About

NoMatter Collective is a group of six young artists and designers based in Geneva who strongly believe in the creative potential found within the processes of public discourse, working together and exchanging ideas.

Coming from different artistic backgrounds, after our studies we decided to join forces, this time outside the frame of an academic institution, in order to work towards the creation of a safe zone of independent thinking. By establishing our own methodological frame, based on group dynamics, we believe that the complementarity of our different practices and our sensitivities are essential in order to nurture and cultivate common artistic interventions. By continuously learning from each other, by sharing care and empathy and with an eye on what happens around us we stay in constant evolution as a collective. 

At the centre of NoMatter collective’s practice is the creation of public works, installations, performances, collective podcasts, open discussions, film and/or reading clubs. Inspired by the idea of “no-matter” we are deeply moved by the way the intangible notions such ideas, myths, fantasies, hopes, relationships that float around us, all the immaterial elements that shape our material existence and coexist as an additional, but not less important, dimension in the Cartesian space. In our work we are continuously searching for the invisible bonds between human, or not, lives and space.
