Roots grew from my feet deep into the soil

Giant sequoias, stone houses, romances and breakups, endangered lilies, obsessions and emotional manipulation, secretions and essential spores.

This publication gathers speculative short novels co-written in August 2025, during a series of writing workshops that we organized at BIG – Biennale des espaces intrépides d’art de Genève. These speculative short novels reflect on our relationship with plants and other natural organisms, and ultimately reflects about ourselves, about our way of relating to others, about loss, nostalgia and eventually about modern love. 

We find hope in fiction and these short novels are for us a testament to the importance of thinking together, asking questions and ultimately imagining together : something that is very dear to us.
